The Southgate Solar Project is a 50 megawatt operating solar facility located in western Ontario.
The project uses solar modules and inverter houses manufactured by Canadian Solar Solutions Inc. and inverters made by SMA Canada Inc. and, during construction, employed hundreds of workers across Ontario.
Construction was completed and commercial operations began in late 2016. All power generated by the facility is sold to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
