The Information Systems team, based in Vancouver, BC, has an opportunity for developing and supporting systems required for financial investment analytics.
Job Description:
Review proposed improvements to investment analytics
Design and develop business application solutions. This includes enhancing the existing investment portfolio management system and developing new modules
Provide end user support for the investment portfolio management system
This position works closely with investment portfolio managers
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or computer engineering with minimum GPA of 75% is required
At least 6 years of work experience designing and developing business applications using Java and SQL
Experience with Matlab is an asset
Exposure to the entire systems development life cycle
Interest and/or experience in developing systems for financial markets
Strong academic background in mathematics and statistics
Strong communication skills
Assertive and enthusiastic personality
Team player
Quickly learns and adapts to new technologies, including developing applications using high performance memory based databases and programming languages
Compensation:
Starting salary is commensurate with experience, with three weeks of vacation. Following the successful completion of our probationary period, a full benefits package is provided including life insurance, extended medical, dental, payment of provincial medical plan premiums and matching of GRSP contributions up to 5% of base salary (in the firm’s Group RRSP plan). Group RRSP employee contributions may begin after two months of employment; CC&L matching would begin after one full year of service.
